Job summary

MorningStar Senior Living in Boise, ID seeks a Lead Dining Room Server for a full-time role. You will provide high-quality meal service, relay orders to back-of-house staff, and create a gracious, resident-focused environment while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

The position requires weekend availability, non-exempt status, and a friendly commitment to our core values. Compensation is $19 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package available for eligible team members.

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Be present in dining room for full meal service.
• Assist special functions as scheduled.
• Support for servers on floor.
• Coverage for call offs.
• Maintain high cleanliness and infection control at all times.
• Oversee bistro areas: food presentation, cleanliness, stock, beverages.
• Know the daily specials and how they are prepared and presented.
• Learn residents' names, dietary needs, requests, likes and dislikes.
• Serve hot food hot and cold food cold.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance Committee as directed.
• Sanitize tables and chairs, reset tables, and vacuum after meals.
• Attend trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.
• Demonstrate Core Values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect.
• Experience in dietary department or restaurant preferred but not required.
• Job knowledge: read, write, speak and understand English.
• Standards: know and meet ADA, state, infection control, health dept., OSHA rules.

POSITIONOVERVIEW

• Be present in dining room for full meal service.

• Maintain high cleanliness, hygiene, and a sanitary and infection free environment at all times.
• Oversight of bistro areas as directed – food presentation, cleanliness, stock supplies, beverages, make popcorn, etc.
• Know the specials of the day and how they are prepared and presented.
• Learn individual resident names, dietary needs, requests, likes and dislikes.
• Must serve hot food hot and cold food cold.
• As directed, participate in the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Sanitize tables and chairs, reset tables, and vacuum floor after each meal.
• Attend all trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.
• Demonstration of our Core Values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect.
• Experience: Previous experience in the dietary department of a health care facility or restaurant preferred but not required.
• Job Knowledge: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Standards: Knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of ADA, state, infection and control, health department, and OSHA.
