Job summary

MorningStar Senior Living in Boise seeks a Dining Room Server for PRN, part-time on-call dining service in a senior living community. Provide high-quality meals and a gracious environment, with accurate order taking and friendly resident interactions.

You will be responsible for delivering exceptional service, maintaining cleanliness, and learning residents’ dietary needs. Strong English communication and adherence to safety standards are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Experience delivering high-quality guest service in dining settings.
• Ability to communicate clearly and take accurate meal orders.

Responsibilities

• Be present in dining room for full meal service.
• Assist special functions as scheduled.
• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene in dining areas.
• Oversee bistro areas including presentation, cleanliness and stock.
• Know the daily specials and how they are prepared.
• Learn residents' names and dietary needs.
• Serve hot food hot and cold food cold.
• Attend trainings, orientation and mandatory meetings.

• Familiarity with ADA, infection control, health department and OSHA standards.

Provide service of high-quality meals and facilitation of a gracious environment. This entails; accurate communication and order taking, properly relaying meal orders to back of the house staff. Offer exceptional customer service, as part of all interactions with our cherished residents.

POSITIONOVERVIEW

• Be present in dining room for full meal service.
• Assist special functions as scheduled.
• Maintain high cleanliness, hygiene, and a sanitary and infection free environment at all times.
• Oversight of bistro areas as directed – food presentation, cleanliness, stock supplies, beverages, make popcorn, etc.
• Know the specials of the day and how they are prepared and presented.
• Learn individual resident names, dietary needs, requests, likes and dislikes.
• Must serve hot food hot and cold food cold.
• As directed, participate in the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Sanitize tables and chairs, reset tables, and vacuum floor after each meal.
• Attend all trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.
• Demonstration of our Core Values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect.
• Experience: Previous experience in the dietary department of a health care facility or restaurant preferred but not required.
• Job Knowledge: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Standards: Knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of ADA, state, infection and control, health department, and OSHA.
