Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced, service-driven Dining Room Manager to lead our front-of-house dining team and uphold the highest standards of hospitality and member satisfaction. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the dining room, overseeing service staff, and collaborating closely with the kitchen, events, and banquet teams to ensure seamless, memorable experiences for our members and guests.
The ideal candidate has a proven background in hospitality leadership, excels in high-touch service environments, and can build strong, positive relationships with staff and club members alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily dining room operations, including lunch, dinner, and special events.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate front-of-house staff (servers, hosts, runners, etc.)
- Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming dining environment at all times
- Manage floor presence, greet and engage with members, and monitor service flow.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar to ensure efficient and accurate service.
- Monitor inventory of service-related supplies and manage purchasing as needed.
- Uphold and enforce all club policies, including dress code, member preferences, and service standards.
- Address and resolve member or guest concerns with professionalism and tact.
- Host pre-shift meetings to communicate service goals, menu updates, or changes.
- Actively participate in event planning and execution as needed.
- Collaborate with the F&B team on wine pairings, cocktail specials, and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain POS systems, reservation platforms, and dining floor plans.
- Serve as Manager on Duty during evenings, weekends, and special events.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of front-of-house management experience in a private club or upscale dining setting.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
- Positive, professional attitude with a hands-on approach to service.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Thorough understanding of fine dining service standards, etiquette, and member service culture.
- Comfortable using reservation systems and POS technology.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Wisconsin Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.
- Hospitality degree or coursework is a plus.
