Job summary

Q39 SOUTH LLC in Overland Park, KS is seeking a part-time Restaurant Host to greet guests, manage reservations, and guide seating so the dining room flows smoothly.

As the first point of contact, you will maintain a warm, professional atmosphere, coordinate the waitlist, and support a seamless guest experience across the dining room, patio, and bar. Prior hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience at a full-service restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure.
• Familiarity with reservation or POS systems preferred.
• Friendly, polished, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Manage the waitlist, quote accurate wait times, and record guest information in the reservation system.
• Plan and rotate guest seating strategically to support service flow and server balance.
• Coordinate large party seating using the party guide.
• Accommodate special seating requests when possible.
• Escort guests to tables, present menus, and provide server introductions.
• Communicate guest needs to servers and management as needed.
• Assist with cleaning and resetting tables promptly if needed to ensure smooth guest turnover.
• Thank departing guests and invite them to return.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area.
• Collaborate with the FOH team to create a seamless and excellent guest experience.
• When multiple hosts are scheduled, responsibilities will be divided and assigned to maximize efficiency and elevate the overall hospitality experience
