Middlebury College in Vermont is seeking a Dining Room Attendant/Checker to support meal service in the Servery. You will stock, serve, and maintain a clean dining area, while accurately counting students served using the checker computer and handling related cashier tasks.
The role is full-time and benefits-eligible with hourly pay from $20 to $22.99, plus weekend and evening differentials. Prior food service or cashier experience is preferred, high school diploma not required.
Performs a variety of functions in the dining room area to ensure that all food items are available to the students and that the area is neat, clean, and attractive. Keeps various workstations stocked throughout serving period. Continuously cleans serving area and dining room throughout meal periods. Maintains accurate count of students served through the use of our customer management software and is responsible for cash collection when assigned to the checking station.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $20 - $22.99 per hour. Shift differential is available for eligible shifts, are stackable, and can amount to a higher wage per hour.
Requires practice of proper health sanitation. Must be physically able to lift 10-20 pounds numerous times during the day and up to 50 pounds frequently, some items are lifted above waist level. Must be able to push and pull 150 pounds frequently. Requires frequent and repetitive bending, reaching, twisting, and turning. Requires frequent walking and long periods of time standing.
