Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin, located at UT Main Campus, is seeking a Building Attendant II - Facilities for part-time work. You will be responsible for keeping residence halls and UHD facilities clean, including bathrooms, dining spaces, and common areas.

The role requires basic custodial experience and a willingness to perform a variety of floor care tasks. Work is Saturdays and Sundays 7 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., with potential flexibility based on department needs.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in custodial maintenance work.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
• Six months of janitorial experience in a large institution
• Six months of experience with vacuum cleaners, buffers, and floor machines
• Six months of experience stripping and refinishing vinyl tile floors
• Demonstrated ability to receive, respond, and follow through with verbal work-related instructions from supervisors, customers, and co-workers
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Clean bathrooms, offices, residence halls, dining halls, and kitchens. Consistently transport trash and supplies between floors.
• Respond and follow through with written and oral University and Housing and Dining policies, procedures, and work-related instructions from supervisors, team leaders, co-workers and residents.
• Remove trash from building and take to trash compactor outside.
• Vacuum, shampoo, and extract carpets.
• Strip, mop, and wax floors.
• Move and arrange furniture.
