Qualifications

• 9 to 12 months of effective experience
• Work from recipes and menus, familiar with ordinary cooking routines
• Basic math skills for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Responsibilities

• Prepare, combine, season, and/or cook food served in university dining halls according to standardized recipes, methods and/or procedures
• Make advance preparation for food items as required
• Utilize proper food production equipment and dispose of leftovers as directed
• Maintain a clean work area and ensure general cleanliness of equipment
• Assist in preparing and cooking several types of foods as directed
• Check equipment for proper working conditions and report malfunctions
• Ensure menu items for serving lines are at proper temperature and available in adequate amounts
• Perform other duties related or similar to the type described above
