Job summary

Evergreen Senior Living is seeking a dedicated kitchen helper to support nutritious meal preparation and dining operations for residents in the Michigan facilities. You will help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment and provide friendly, respectful service to residents and staff.

The role involves setting up and serving meals, dishwashing, portioning, monitoring stock, and following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
• Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and respectfully with residents/patients, families, volunteers, and other center staff.
• Shows dependability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and serve meals in dining areas or patient rooms as needed.
• Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing kitchen tools and equipment.
• Help plate and portion food according to resident or patient dietary needs.
• Monitor food stock and report shortages or issues to the kitchen supervisor.
• Provide friendly, respectful service to residents, patients, and staff.
• Assist with meal preparation, ensuring food is prepared and served at proper temperatures and in appropriate portions.
• Follow established safety and infection control regulations and policies.
• Report disrepair of kitchen and dietary appliances, equipment, etc.
• Observe, note and report changes in resident eating habits, especially those on a specialized diet.
