Job summary

Evergreen Senior Living in Michigan is seeking a part-time kitchen aide to prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines, assist with daily kitchen operations, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment for residents and staff.

Roles include setting up and serving meals, assisting with dishwashing and sanitation, portioning food by dietary needs, monitoring stock and temperatures, and following safety and infection control rules.

Qualifications

• Experience operating cooking and food preparation equipment.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation.
• Ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, staff.
• Punctual, reliable with consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and serve meals in dining areas or patient rooms.
• Assist with dishwashing, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen tools.
• Help plate and portion food per dietary needs.
• Monitor stock and report shortages to kitchen supervisor.
• Provide friendly, respectful service to residents, patients and staff.
• Assist with meal preparation ensuring proper temperatures and portions.
• Follow safety and infection control regulations.
• Report disrepair of kitchen equipment.
• Observe and report changes in resident eating habits on specialized diets.
