Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer‑Sustainment Engineer and Digital Thread to support the U.S. Coast Guard CG-TECH-DME organization in enterprise digital transformation, sustainment engineering, and digital engineering initiatives aligning with Force Design 2028 objectives.

The Senior Systems Engineer provides technical leadership across PLM, digital thread management, and lifecycle sustainment from requirements through disposal.

Qualifications

• Experience in sustainment engineering or product support for complex systems.
• Hands-on PLM software experience including BOM management and change workflows.
• Experience establishing and maintaining a digital thread across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide sustainment-focused systems engineering support for Coast Guard digital transformation and lifecycle modernization.
• Establish and govern digital thread linkages across requirements, architecture, and sustainment data.
• Administer PLM software configurations and workflows, and manage data across systems.
• Support configuration management, data packages, and baseline control within PLM.
• Develop technical recommendations to support modernization and lifecycle support objectives.
• Create systems engineering artifacts including CONOPS, requirements, interfaces, and sustainment plans.
• Translate operational requirements into traceable model artifacts for digital engineering.
• Build enterprise models in Cameo and link to PLM items for traceability.
• Identify obsolescence risks and develop parts management strategies.
• Coordinate with cloud, cybersecurity, data, and application teams on PLM/digital thread solutions.
• Participate in governance boards, reviews, and program status briefings.
• Contribute to roadmaps, data migration plans, and risk monitoring.
