Job summary

New America seeks a Digital Director to lead strategy for our website, digital publishing, and storytelling platforms. You will guide a multidisciplinary team to deliver accessible, high-impact digital products and analytics-driven insights.

You will collaborate with editorial, policy, development, and operations teams to drive audience growth, brand consistency, and responsible use of emerging technologies, while reporting to the VP of Content and Communications.

Qualifications

Eight years of relevant professional experience, including at least three years managing staff.
Experience developing and implementing an organization-wide digital strategy.
Significant experience leading digital product development, website management, or related function.
Experience managing multidisciplinary staff and building collaborative teams.
Ability to develop product roadmaps, prioritize needs, and lead complex projects.
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, with familiarity in modern web frameworks.

Responsibilities

Set the vision and strategy for New America’s website, digital publishing tools, and data storytelling capabilities.
Develop and oversee a digital product roadmap aligned with goals and resources.
Lead product-development processes involving internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Expand interactive storytelling and data-visualization capabilities for greater impact.
Translate analytics into actionable recommendations for content strategy and allocation.
