Job summary

New America is seeking a Digital Director to lead the organization’s digital strategy, website, analytics, and brand across multiple channels. The role requires strategic vision, technical fluency, and robust people leadership within a collaborative Central Communications team.

The Digital Director will manage four direct reports and partner with senior leadership to drive audience growth, engagement, and impact through innovative digital products and storytelling.

Qualifications

• At least eight years of relevant professional experience, including at least three years managing staff
• Experience developing and implementing an organization-wide digital strategy
• Significant experience leading digital product development, website management, web design, or a related function
• Experience managing and mentoring multidisciplinary staff and building effective, collaborative teams
• Demonstrated ability to develop product roadmaps, prioritize competing needs, and lead complex projects from planning through implementation and evaluation
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS; familiarity with JavaScript/React and modern CMS (WordPress/Drupal)

Responsibilities

• Lead digital strategy, roadmap, and product development for New America.
• Oversee website management, publishing, accessibility, and performance.
• Guide analytics, audience development, and data-informed decision making.
• Steward brand visual identity across channels and campaigns.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with senior leaders.
