Job summary

Corning Incorporated is actively seeking an experienced IT leader to help design, develop, and implement the division digital strategy across multiple manufacturing plants. This role focuses on delivering transformative cost reduction while improving quality and process capability, leveraging the latest digital and automation technologies.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance to deploy projects, lead cross-functional teams, and drive manufacturing

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years manufacturing industry experience with automation and/or optimization project implementation.
• Programming experience in Python, C#, HTML, and JavaScript.
• Programming-related skills related to or involving web development, .NET, Flask, Microsoft IIS, Visual Studio, Git.
• Analysis/Reporting experience with tools such as SSRS, SQL, PowerBI.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement solutions for manufacturing which leverage latest digital technologies including data analytics and programming technologies, and work closely with manufacturing to define appropriate controls hardware platforms/systems for implementing process control solutions.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of existing processes to identify process control optimization opportunities and write proposals to initiate cross-functional projects.
• Work with experienced professionals in manufacturing and multi-disciplined team processes subject matter experts, and apply process data analysis skills to gain fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Utilize statistical analysis to design for process capability.
• Lead projects and work in a multi-disciplinary research, development, and engineering environment to identify opportunities for digital business transformation.
• Facilitate the transfer of new process control technologies and methodologies into manufacturing and provide training to manufacturing and engineering personnel.
• Document process control findings and newly implemented technologies in technical reports and functional specifications. Generate intellectual property through invention disclosures and patent applications.
