Job summary

Corning is seeking a Digital Software Engineer in Concord, NC to lead or co-lead the division’s digital strategy across multiple manufacturing plants. The role focuses on delivering cost reductions, improving quality and process capability, and applying the latest digital and automation technologies across operations, supply chain, and finance.

You will work with experienced manufacturing professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment, driving projects from concept through implementation

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing industry experience with automation/optimization projects.
• Programming-related skills in web development, .NET, Flask, IIS, Visual Studio, Git.
• Experience with SSRS, SQL, and PowerBI for analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of process control, data analysis, system modeling, and control loop tuning.
• Strong written and verbal communication across teams; Lean-Optimization experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement manufacturing solutions using digital technologies and data analytics.
• Define controls hardware platforms and systems for process control implementations.
• Identify optimization opportunities from existing processes and propose cross-functional projects.
• Apply data analysis to understand manufacturing processes and improve performance.
• Lead multi-disciplinary projects and transfer new control technologies to operations.
• Provide training and document findings in reports and specifications; generate IP disclosures.
