Job summary

BHS Corrugated North America is seeking a Digital Print Process Specialist to serve as a technical SME across our growing Digital Print operation. You’ll own the science behind the print—from file prep and RIP workflows to color accuracy and substrate interaction.

This multi-site role requires traveling to installations, calibrating printers, developing ICC profiles, and creating SOPs. You'll train supervisors and collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and R&D to drive print quality

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ICC color management and profiling.
• Experience with PDF/X and RIP workflows.
• Experience across multi-site digital print environments.
• Willingness to travel for work.
• Understanding of print standards (G7, GRACoL, ISO 12647).

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical SME for prepress, PDF workflows, RIP technology, and print production.
• Diagnose PDF/X rendering issues and color problems.
• Create and optimize ICC color profiles.
• Lead printer calibration using G7, GRACoL, Fogra, ISO 12647.
• Troubleshoot color consistency across substrates and devices.
• Develop SOPs and technical standards across sites.
• Train onsite supervisors, technicians, and operators.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and R&D to implement improvements.

Digital Print Process Specialist | BHS Corrugated

BHS Corrugated North America is looking for a Digital Print Process Specialist to serve as a technical expert across our growing Digital Print operation.

This isn't a production management role. You'll be the person our teams turn to for the science and process behind the print—from file preparation and RIP workflows to color accuracy, ICC profiling, printhead performance, ink, and substrate interaction.

What You'll Own

• Serve as a technical SME for prepress, PDF workflows, RIP technology, and print production
• Diagnose complex PDF/X, rendering, transparency, overprint, and file-processing issues
• Create, implement, and optimize ICC color profiles
• Lead printer calibration and characterization using G7, GRACoL, Fogra, and ISO 12647 standards
• Troubleshoot color consistency across substrates, devices, and locations
• Investigate print-quality issues including banding, mottling, and nozzle deviations
• Analyze printhead performance, ink technologies, and substrate interactions
• Develop SOPs, best practices, and technical standards across our Digital Print sites
• Train onsite supervisors, technicians, and operators
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and R&D to turn field findings into improvements

What We're Looking For

You may be a strong fit if your background includes:

• Digital print production or industrial inkjet
• Advanced prepress and PDF workflow experience
• RIP technologies and workflow automation
• ICC profiling and color management
• G7, GRACoL, Fogra, and/or ISO 12647 standards
• Spectrophotometers and color QC systems
• Printheads, ink chemistry, and substrate behavior
• Root-cause troubleshooting of complex print-quality issues
• Developing technical standards, SOPs, or training

Experience with Variable Data Printing (VDP) is a plus.

The Role

This is a multi-site technical position, not a role dedicated to one customer location. You'll work across BHS Digital Printer installations, partnering with onsite teams to solve the problems that require deeper print-process expertise.

Regular travel, including occasional short-notice travel, is required.
