Job summary

RRD is seeking a Digital Press Operator Apprentice for 1st shift in Wisconsin. The role is full-time with a pay range of $20.00 to $26.00 per hour.

The position involves setting up and operating press equipment, performing make-ready tasks, and ensuring color accuracy to meet quality standards. As a valuable member of the Production & Manufacturing department, you will maintain and troubleshoot presses, perform routine maintenance, and follow safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must have thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine appropriate press usage and materials.
• Skill in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Knowledge of packing pressure needed to obtain proper printing pressure for the job.
• Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.
• Perform make-ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders and checking images.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specs.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
