Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a Digital Press Operator to join the Cursive team. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a tech-enabled, digital label and packaging printer/converter that is disrupting the industry. You will be manufacturing labels and packaging for the world's most exciting brands in wine/spirits, health & beauty, and food and beverage. You’ll be working in a bright and clean environment, and you will have access to brand new, state-of-the-art converting technology.
What you'll be doing:
- The HP Indigo digital press operator is responsible for setting up the presses to correctly run jobs, maintain smooth operation during runtime, and ensure quality jobs are produced.
- Read job ticket instructions thoroughly, ensure all materials needed for the scheduled job are available. If not, notify appropriate staff.
- Perform general, weekly, and monthly maintenance required to ensure equipment is always ready and operational.
- Promotes machine uptime to meet or exceed production goals while maintaining quality controls.
- Place service calls and work with HP remotely and on-site support to troubleshoot press issues. Notify management of issues and resolution.
- Suggest and implement areas of improvement for operation efficiencies.
- Use time wisely while optimizing steps to maximize output and minimize downtime.
- Ensure scheduled production times are met, communicating any issues with management.
- Manage material consumption with consideration of cost and availability.
- Maintain critical timelines with a focus on ensuring and managing priorities. Increase pace of work as needed.
- Consistently produce quality products at a high volume. Willing to take on more work, when feasible, to meet department and company objectives.
- Willing to assist in other areas of the plant as needed to ensure that production time deadlines are met.
- Perform quality checks to ensure color continuity and quality expectations are met for all printed materials and throughout the printing process.
- Strive to maximize the quality of products while working to exceed baseline standards and improving processes at every opportunity.
- Ensure attention to details and accuracy, with a commitment to excellence.
- Continuously look for ways to improve processes while monitoring the level of quality in their work.

Requirements
What you need to bring:
- High school or equivalent.
- Prior experience in the printing industry, preferably with labels and shrink wrap. Level I HP Indigo Press Certification preferred.
- Experience running Indigo 6k and 25k press required.
- Technical and mechanical experience in printing/operating Digital printing and finishing preferred.
- Responsible for work produced and problem-solving to fix errors as they occur.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to communicate and relay information down the line that impacts quality of work produced.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate as needed.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and stressful environment.

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted.

- Visual acuity includes close-up, distance, peripheral, depth perception, distinguishing color variations, and adjusting focus.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration and moderate to loud noise.
