Job summary

MCC is seeking a Digital Prepress Technician in Napa, CA, to ensure accurate construction and processing of artwork files for flexography and digital label printing. You will configure jobs to meet customer specs, optimize files for printing platforms, and maintain fast turnaround without compromising quality.

Key duties include producing proofs, preparing final stepped files for plates, and interacting with customers and teammates to meet requirements.

Qualifications

Associate degree or 2 years of equivalent combination of education and experience in Graphics Reproduction, Customer Service, or related fields.
Advanced computer skills including proficiency with business operating systems, prepress/preflight software, internet applications, and MS Office.
Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Experience with Esko, GMG or HP Indigo software is a plus.
Understanding color theory and color separation.
Ability to learn new technology and software/hardware.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Execute electronic art separations following internal job tickets and printer specifications for all print types and materials.
Output electronic proofs and hard color proofs.
Convert approved proof files to final stepped files for plate output.
Inspect finished files and complete QA checklist.
Interact with customers or teammates on job specifications and special requirements.
Manage multiple jobs in various production stages.
Operate Macintosh workstations with ERP and Graphics Systems.
Assist with external communication and file transfers.
Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
