Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Digital Pathology Coordinator to provide logistical and administrative support for the department's whole slide scanning program. You will collate slides, prepare metadata, and coordinate with physicians, residents, and staff to ensure timely scanning and accurate data entry.

The role involves QA, issue resolution with the Image Management System, and maintaining organized records and spreadsheets.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree required.
Minimum one year of work experience in administrative, healthcare or science based field.
Experience with computer systems including web based applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Collate slides from multiple areas for scanning in a timely manner.
Coordinate activities with attending physicians, residents, and staff.
Perform pre-analytic review of slides for scanning and barcode quality.
Prepare metadata for slides scanned.
Load/unload slides into scanner using batch management schemes.
Perform QA to ensure image integrity and barcode readability.
Rescan failures and organize slides for return to designated areas.
Maintain spreadsheets and organize Image Management System according to methods.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and liaise with vendor for service.
Monitor storage and purge archived files.
