Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience in broadcasting, multimedia production, and AV tech.
• Knowledge of video production equipment, multi-camera, editing software, streaming, and digital media platforms.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with high school students.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Produce and coordinate video and live-stream coverage of Board meetings, graduations, athletic events, concerts, performances, and other district activities.
• Manage and maintain CITV programming, the district YouTube channel, and other digital media platforms.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and coordinate upgrades to AV, studio, and media production equipment.
• Collaborate with administrators, staff, students, community organizations, and vendors on media projects and services.
• Supervise and support student workers and part-time production staff.
• Assist with media services budgeting, equipment purchases, and technology planning.
• Provide training and support related to media production and AV technology.

Job Description

Colonial School District is seeking a Digital Media Specialist to coordinate and support district-wide audio-visual, multimedia, broadcast, and digital media services. This position will produce and coordinate coverage of school and community events, manage the district’s CITV channel and online video platforms, support classroom AV technology, and assist with student-produced media projects.

This position is part of the CESP bargaining unit, 12-month, full time

Flexible schedule is required for seasonal events, and work hours will be modified based on events and specific job duties.

Salary Range is $55,000 - $60,000 based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of video production equipment, multi-camera production, editing software (Adobe Creative Cloud preferred), streaming, and digital media platforms.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and effectively work with high school students.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift/transport equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
