You: You’re a client-forward digital marketing generalist who’s just as comfortable leading a monthly check-in as you are dialing in lead generation strategy for SABs (service area businesses). You lean into your strengths, give help when you’ve got it, ask for help when you need it, and work best in a team that has each other’s backs. You don’t shy away from client conversations, especially the tricky ones, and you genuinely enjoy seeing your work create meaningful, measurable results over time.

Us: We’re not here for black hat tricks, quick-fixes, or one-size-fits-all marketing tactics. Our clients count on us as strategy partners who focus on foundational, proven, local-first marketing strategies including: SEO, paid search, and purposeful content planning that actually generates leads for small to mid-sized SABs. We’re a close-knit team of digital marketers with individual client ownership, but collaboration is baked into everything we do. Support flows naturally. We don’t work in silos, and no one carries the weight alone.

About The Role

This role is a great fit for someone who knows how to generate leads for SABs through local SEO and paid marketing channels with thoughtful, creative, and foundational marketing solutions. You’ll work directly with 5–10 clients, primarily general contractors, and a dynamic, expanding SAB portfolio. Our goal is to help clients get leads through precise targeting by improving their local visibility with a qualified audience. The larger team includes designers, developers, sales, operations, and digital marketers (DMs). As a digital marketer, you’ll work closely with a team of supportive DMs, own client relationships, and lean into your strengths across accounts. You’ll have ownership of your clients, but you won’t be expected to do it all alone. We protect bandwidth and well-being through collaboration and cross-support. We’ve found that leaning into each other’s strengths allows us to keep the work smoother, smarter, and more effective for everyone involved.

Most of your time will go to client relationships, planning, collaborating, and optimizing what works to drive qualified leads. You won’t be in a silo, we have a strong internal team, but you will need to speak clearly, set expectations, lead client meetings, and confidently walk clients through what’s happening and why it matters.

You should feel at home shifting gears and applying your skills across channels. We’re a small, collaborative, neurodivergent-friendly crew, and we’re looking for someone who likes being a generalist and doesn’t need a rigid hierarchy or a narrow niche to feel grounded.

We’re currently focused on helping design-build remodelers and contractors grow their businesses, but we’re actively expanding into adjacent verticals. If you have experience across service-based industries and enjoy turning strategy into results, you'll thrive here.

Your Primary Responsibilities

While this is a generalist role on a dynamic team, it also comes with autonomy. You’ll be the main point of contact for your clients and responsible for leading the foundational strategies that help them grow.

The must-have client-side soft skills for this role are strong communication, relationship-building, and emotional intelligence. The must-have technical capabilities are lead generation and a solid understanding of local SEO for SABs.

You need to be able to confidently own:

  • Client management
  • Informed decision-making for lead generation
  • SAB-focused local SEO implementation

Here’s what you’ll be directly responsible for:

  • Client management: Own 5–10 client relationships, including check-ins, agenda prep, follow-ups, and clear communication
  • Lead generation: Manage strategy and ongoing optimization for SAB lead gen
  • Local SEO: Guide and implement SEO execution, including geo page direction, GBP optimization, and on-page improvements
  • Paid ads: Ensure Google Search (PPC) and Local Services Ads (GLSA) are optimized with a focus on lead quality and performance
  • Analytics: Analyze GA4 and Search Console data, and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Project ownership: Prioritize client needs and move work forward through collaboration, delegation, and/or hands-on execution with the internal team

How Contribution Works

You’ll own your client accounts, but you won’t be expected to execute every tactic alone. This means you’ll also be a collaborator. Our DM team works cross-account, supporting each other based on individual strengths so we can work smarter, not harder. Depending on your skills, here’s what day-to-day contribution might look like:

  • Support client management for key initiatives or to cover other DMs when needed
  • Support local SEO execution (geo pages, GBP optimization, and on-page improvements)
  • Support lead generation improvements
  • Support website content editing and development
  • Support PPC and GLSA creation, implementation, and optimization
  • Support paid campaigns on directory platforms like Bing and Yelp
  • Support organic social media content development and campaign management
  • Support paid campaigns across social or social-adjacent platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, Houzz, etc.)
  • Support light edits and updates in WordPress (e.g., navigation, plugin familiarity, QA)
  • Support ad copy updates or optimization of web content
  • Support listing and directory management (e.g., NAP consistency)
  • Support conversion tracking and tag implementation via Google Tag Manager
  • Support A/B testing for paid and organic marketing initiatives
  • Please Note: This isn’t a list of required skills (though we hope you bring several). It’s a list of marketing tactics we commonly use. You’ll jump in on other accounts where your skills align. Everyone contributes where they’re strong.

Bonus Skills We Love

Not required, but highly valuable and appreciated:

  • Familiarity with remodeling, home building, or related industries
  • Understanding of paid and organic social media (primarily Facebook and Instagram)
  • Understanding of Apple Business Connect or Meta Business Manager
  • Familiarity with Yelp for Business or Pinterest Business tools
  • Comfort using Google Docs, Sheets, and Presentations
  • Comfort with Canva
  • Experience using Looker Studio
  • Experience with SEO tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush
  • Experience with email marketing tools like Mailchimp or Constant Contact
  • Exposure to platforms like Houzz, Nextdoor, or other local directories

Keokee Media + Marketing is our parent company, with two collaborative branches: Keokee Local (which focuses on print, web, and digital marketing for Sandpoint-area businesses) and KCM (Keokee Contractor Marketing), our SAB-focused division. While the two branches work closely together, this position will be rooted in the KCM team, where we currently focus on digital strategy for contractors, with new verticals on the horizon.

We’re a small, kind, and collaborative team that values clarity, curiosity, and doing great work without drama. We make space for different working styles and believe in hiring people who enjoy the kind of work we actually do here, especially the client-side problem-solving, not just the behind-the-scenes implementation.

This isn’t a rigid agency. There’s room to think, breathe, and bring your full brain to the table.
