Self-directed and proactive. This role requires a high level of autonomy and is not task dependent. The Digital Marketing & Content Specialist is expected to identify opportunities, develop ideas, establish priorities, and determine what content should be created without waiting for a detailed weekly list of assignments. They should be able to evaluate analytics, upcoming initiatives, treatment priorities, promotions, provider needs, events, seasonality, FAQs, trends, and the marketing calendar to recommend what should be created next.
Able to turn business priorities into an actionable content strategy. Must be comfortable taking broad organizational priorities and translating them into effective social media and digital content plans. Content should have a clear purpose, whether that is building authority, educating patients, increasing awareness, generating consultations, supporting a promotion, driving event registrations, selling products, or achieving another defined business objective.
Strong project management and organizational skills. Must independently manage multiple brands and content streams, including filming schedules, content calendars, campaign timelines, approvals, assets, promotions, provider availability, deadlines, and publishing schedules.
Able to lead content capture with providers. Physicians and staff should not be expected to arrive with social media ideas prepared. The Digital Marketing & Content Specialist should come to filming sessions with concepts, questions, hooks, shot lists, and a clear plan and be comfortable directing content capture efficiently.
Able to translate subject-matter expertise into consumer-friendly content. Must recognize what is relevant and interesting to patients and translate provider expertise into content that is understandable, engaging, credible, and appropriate for social and digital channels.
Strong copywriting and digital storytelling skills. Must be able to write effective hooks, CTAs, captions, reel overlays, blogs, campaign messaging, and other digital copy while maintaining the appropriate voice for each brand.
Strong attention to detail and quality control. Accuracy is particularly important when communicating provider names and credentials, treatment names, dates, promotional terms, medical information, links, before-and-after information, and content involving patient privacy.
Able to communicate and collaborate across teams. Must be comfortable obtaining information and approvals from providers, leadership, design, and clinical teams while continuing to own the marketing recommendation and move projects forward.
Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and technologies. Must understand current social media and digital marketing practices and be able to tailor content and publishing strategies for different audiences, including Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms.
Able to apply trends appropriately to a premium brand. Must recognize relevant social and digital trends and determine when and how to use them in a way that supports premium/luxury brand positioning. Content should feel elevated, calm, credible, aspirational, and approachable rather than overly promotional, gimmicky, or trend driven.
Effective community manager. Must be comfortable monitoring comments and direct messages, engaging appropriately, identifying issues requiring escalation, and using audience questions and feedback to identify opportunities for future content.
Working knowledge of CRM-driven marketing. Must understand audience segmentation, messaging, campaign execution, and the role of CRM platforms in supporting digital marketing initiatives.
