Job summary

The Rug Company, a leader in luxury handmade rugs, seeks a Digital Marketing Associate to drive acquisition, retention and engagement for both B2B and B2C audiences. You will own social media, email marketing, CRM, SEO/ GEO, and website initiatives, collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to execute campaigns and report results.

Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of digital marketing experience and a relevant degree or qualification in the field.
  • Hands-on experience in social media, email marketing, CRM, and SEO is essential.
  • Highly numerate, comfortable with data and statistics, proficient in Excel (formulas and conditional formatting).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the organic social media calendar across key platforms.
  • Manage and grow YouTube presence with content planning, uploads, metadata optimization and reporting.
  • Own end‑to‑end email marketing campaigns and automate flows; collaborate with CRM team for data transfers.
  • Coordinate with external agencies on Paid Social and Paid Search; brief creative requirements and track ad performance.
  • Leverage first‑ and third‑party data for on‑site SEO and GEO improvements; report findings to drive decisions.
  • Update website pages and manage on-site merchandising and third‑party product updates.
  • Produce regular performance reports across digital channels for internal stakeholders.

About the Role

As a Digital Marketing Associate, you will be responsible for executing The Rug Company's digital marketing plan and reporting on outcomes, with a focus on acquisition, retention, and engagement across both our B2B and B2C audiences.

The role spans all digital marketing channels — Social Media, Email Marketing, Paid Search, Paid Social, website maintenance, SEO/GEO and third-party retailers and will play an active part in building new capabilities as the brand grows. You will work closely with internal teams and external agency partners, contributing to campaign execution, data-driven reporting, and continuous improvement across all touchpoints.

This role is part of the Marketing and Digital team. The Digital Marketing Associate reports to the Integrated Marketing Manager with a dotted line to the Digital & Ecommerce Manager and works closely with the Creative and CRM teams.

Key Responsibilities
Social Media
  • Plan and execute the organic social media calendar across key platforms (Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube and others as relevant) to align with the overall brand marketing calendar and channel rollout strategy.
  • Manage and grow The Rug Company's YouTube presence, coordinating video content planning, uploads, metadata optimization, and performance reporting.
  • Engage with clients, designers and followers on social channels appropriately to build community and increase engagement on owned channels.
  • Source, organize and manage rights and posting of all project imagery in DAM system.
  • Monitor social media performance, identify trends, and share insights to inform content and campaign strategy.
  • Brief the creative team and align on brand standards for content needed across each channel.
Email Marketing & CRM
  • Own the end-to-end build and deployment of email marketing campaigns and automated flows, ensuring best practices are maintained across all sends.
  • Collaborate with CRM manager to monitor and manage data transfer into and out of the email marketing system, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage email personalization and segmentation strategy, reporting on effectiveness and proposing improvements.
  • Measure and report on email and automated flow performance, providing actionable insights for companywide reporting.
Paid Media & Agency Management
  • Communicate with digital agencies managing Paid Social and Paid Search ensuring they have up-to-date creative assets, copy and performance feedback.
  • Brief new creative requirements to internal teams and manage the approval process.
  • Report on ad effectiveness to support a continuous test-and-learn approach.
SEO/GEO
  • Leverage first- and third-party data to generate actionable insights for on-site SEO and GEO improvements, including copy and content opportunities.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify and action key SEO and GEO priorities.
  • Produce thorough reporting through dashboards and ad hoc reports to support sprint planning and strategic decisions.
Website
  • Update website editorial pages to support marketing initiatives (homepage, campaign landing pages and blogs).
  • Oversee on-site merchandising of product pages to maximized engagement and conversion.
  • Manage third-party website product updates.
Data & Reporting
  • Produce regular performance reports across all digital channels for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with data integration between new and existing systems to ensure customer expectations are met and best practice is maintained.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with marketing and creative teams on marketing initiatives and campaign rollout.
  • Build relationships with sales teams, communicating digital initiatives and gathering feedback to ensure alignment.
Qualifications
  • 3-4 years of experience in digital marketing; a relevant degree or qualification in digital marketing or a related field is required.
  • Hands-on experience in social media, email marketing, CRM, and SEO is essential.
  • Highly numerate, comfortable with data and statistics, and proficient in Excel (including formulas and conditional formatting).
  • Strong English literacy with a keen eye for copy errors.
  • A fast learner with a proven track record of picking up new tools and platforms quickly.
  • Well-organized, proactive, and able to work independently and use own initiative.
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly evolving environment and open to taking on new responsibilities.
  • Experience in luxury or interiors sectors is a bonus.
  • Possess a strong aesthetic sensibility and understanding of luxury brand standards.
