Job summary

BioHorizons seeks a Digital Laboratory Technician to manage case design and fabricate custom dental prostheses for customers and clinical partners.

You will process daily orders to customer specs, participate in software validations, and support dental prosthetics and surgical guide projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; dental lab or medical device experience preferred.
• Proficient in 3Shape, Exocad, and Dental Wings DWOS; familiarity with IOS scans helpful.
• Experience designing crowns, copings, bridges, models and abutments in CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Scan cases for CAD design work.
• Design dental prostheses per customer specs in CAD software.
• Complete work in accordance with the Vulcan Quality Manual.
• Ensure turnaround times for production are met.
• Provide CAD/CAM prosthetics and surgical guides support to customers.
• Coordinate cases with customers through care systems and production flow.
• Provide support and training to Vulcan customers and partners.
• Participate in CAD production qualifications including installation, operation and process validation.
• Work with outside suppliers as needed.
• Investigate and address customer complaints.

Job description

The Digital Laboratory Technician position is responsible for, but not limited to, managing cases and designing custom dental prostheses for Vulcan Custom Dental and both laboratory and clinical customers. This position shall be responsible for processing daily orders to customer specifications, including but not limited to participation with IQ/OQ/PQ's for new software, products and process validations. Secondary activities will include: customer support as relates to dental prosthetics, dental surgical guides, and various dental surgical treatment planning software. Also supports other digital dentistry manufacturing initiatives as established with manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Scan Cases for CAD design work
• Perform CAD design of dental prostheses per customer specifications
• Completes all work in accordance with the Vulcan Quality Manual
• Ensures established turnaround times for product are achieved
• Provides customer support as it relates to CAD/CAM prosthetics and surgical guides
• Coordinates cases with customers as they are received through Customer Care, processed through various software, and distributed physically throughout Vulcan
• Provides support and training to Vulcan customers, partner companies, and online
• Participates in CAD production-related qualifications including Installation, Operation, and Process Validation
• Works with outside suppliers as needed
• Investigates and addresses customer complaints

Qualifications:

• Strong computer skills required
• Experience designing crowns, copings, bridges, models and abutments in 3Shape, Exocad, Dental Wings or equivalent software preferred
• Know and understand tooth morphology desired
• Experience with IOS scans and importing files from various scanner software platforms desired
• Must be comfortable in production environment where production quotas are mandated

Education and/or Experience:

• High school Diploma Required
• Dental Lab/medical device experience preferred
• Knowledge of 3Shape, Exocad, and Dental Wings (DWOS) software usage preferred
