Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a summer intern in Nashville to gain hands-on experience in engineering and architecture. You will work 40 hours per week, in person, and learn from mentors while contributing to digital initiatives.

Ideal candidates are pursuing IS, Engineering, or CS degrees with a 3.0+ GPA, possess strong communication, and show interest in emerging technologies, automation, and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Explore emerging technologies and their potential applications within an engineering/architecture context.
• Support research, development, and testing of innovative digital solutions.
• Assist with prototypes, proofs of concept, and technology pilots.
• Document solutions, tests, and recommendations; collaborate with teams.

Location: Nashville, TN
Number of positions available: 1
Schedule: Summer 2027

You will gain experience in:

• Exploring emerging technologies and their potential applications within an engineering and architecture organization
• Supporting the research, development, and testing of innovative digital solutions
• Assisting with prototypes, proofs of concept, process automation, and technology pilots
• Identifying opportunities to improve workflows and business processes through technology
• Supporting the evaluation and implementation of new digital tools
• Documenting solutions, processes, testing results, and recommendations
• Collaborating with technical and business teams to understand challenges and develop potential solutions
• Supporting Digital team project deliverables and collaborating on new ideas and innovations

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's degree from an accredited university
• Major: Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Current GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Interest in emerging technology, innovation, automation, and digital transformation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• You must be at least 18 years of age

Additional Details:

• This is a paid internship working full-time hours (40) per week
• This is an in-person work opportunity
• Interns are not eligible for company benefits
