Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. in Nashville invites a college student to join as a paid Summer 2027 intern in Electrical Engineering.

You will work on Commercial and Industrial Building Design, Healthcare Facilities, and related projects, gaining hands-on experience while mentored by senior engineers. The internship is in-person, full-time (40 hours/week), with opportunities to draft in REVIT and develop project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Current GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• You must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Support design of commercial/industrial building projects.
• Assist in preparing design plans and specs for construction.
• Perform REVIT 3D drafting tasks under mentor guidance.
• Help engineers deliver project deliverables.
• Collaborate with team members on new ideas and innovations.

Location: Nashville, TN

Number of positions available: 1

Schedule: Summer 2027

You will be involved in the following types of projects:

• Commercial and Industrial Building Design
• Healthcare Facilities Design
• Water/Wastewater treatment plant Electrical Design
• Site Lighting Design

You will gain experience in:

• Lighting photometric design
• Preparation of design plans and specs for construction
• REVIT 3D drafting
• Supporting Engineers in completing project deliverables
• Collaborating with team members on new ideas/innovations

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree form an accredited university
• Major: Electrical Engineering
• Current GPA of 3.0 or higher
• You must be at least 18 years of age.

Additional Details:

• This is a paid internship working full-time hours (40) per week.
• This is an in-person work opportunity.
• Interns are not eligible for company benefits.
• Housing assistance is not provided.
