Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. in Nashville, TN, is seeking a self-motivated college student for a summer internship in Geomatics / Land Surveying. You will gain hands-on field and data processing experience while learning from mentors.

The role is paid and based in Nashville with 1 position available. This internship focuses on field surveying, equipment operation, legal descriptions, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS, and laser scanning support.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Surveying and Mapping or related field.
• Major: Surveying and Mapping or related field.
• Current GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• You must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preference will be given to students that do not require sponsorship.

You Will Gain Experience In

• Learning how to operate equipment in order to execute proper surveying techniques in the field.


• Processing survey data.


• Interpreting legal/property description


• Operating survey instruments such as robotic total stations, GPS and laser scanning.


• Basic field calculations.

Education & Experience Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited university.


• Major: Surveying and Mapping or related field.


• Current GPA of 3.0 or higher.


• You must be at least 18 years of age.

Additional Details

• This is a paid internship.


• Interns are not eligible for company benefits.


• Housing assistance is not provided.


• This position will mostly include fieldwork, so you must be willing to be outdoors and work in the elements.


• Project travel may be necessary but will not be at your expense.


• Pay will be hourly with the ability to obtain overtime when necessary. Full workdays/week will be contingent upon weather.
