Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is offering a paid internship in Nashville for Summer 2027. The role is in-person with full-time hours (40 per week) and focuses on structural engineering tasks alongside engineers and designers.

Intern will gain hands-on experience in framing, codes, and design deliverables, including FEA software and Autodesk REVIT, while collaborating with the team on innovative ideas.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited university.
• Major: Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis.
• Preference for students that do not require sponsorship.
• Current GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• You must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of framing and foundation plans, sections, and details.
• Preparation of structural calculations, including the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
• Reviewing construction submittals, such as shop drawings and product data.
• Supporting Engineers in completing project deliverables.
• Collaborating with team members on new ideas/innovations.
• Using Autodesk REVIT.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree pursuit

Location: Nashville, TN

Number of positions available: 1

Schedule: Summer 2027

You will be involved in the following types of projects:

• Industrial and commercial building design projects
• Water/wastewater treatment structures
• Earth retention structures

You will gain experience in:

• Preparation of framing and foundation plans, sections, and details
• Preparation of structural calculations, including the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
• Reviewing construction submittals, such as shop drawings and product data
• Supporting Engineers in completing project deliverables
• Collaborating with team members on new ideas/innovations
• Using Autodesk REVIT

Education & Experience Qualifications:
