Job summary

Lead For America, in partnership with the Seattle Housing Authority, seeks an AmeriCorps Digital Learning Assistant to enhance digital access and learning in low-income housing communities. You will help ensure welcoming labs, support resident tech use, and recruit/train volunteers to sustain positive impact.

Under supervision, you will gain hands-on experience in community development, digital inclusion, and program operations while supporting residents with technology and information access.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Interest in gaining experience in community development or digital inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lab Management — assist staff with operating and maintaining computer labs in low income housing communities.
• Volunteer Recruitment — train and support resident volunteers to support lab operations and maintain open hours.
• Volunteer Training — train volunteers to open, monitor, and assist in labs, including basic troubleshooting.
• Resident Support — provide basic help with computer use, email setup, printing, and simple troubleshooting.
• Digital Skills Instruction — help residents learn foundational computer skills such as navigation, typing, internet use.
• Digital Navigation — assist residents with navigating benefits, job applications, and housing resources with guidance.
