Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly motivated Digital Hardware Design Engineer to join our hardware engineering team in an onsite role in El Segundo, CA. You will contribute to the design, development, verification, and validation of airborne radar hardware for defense applications.

This position focuses on RTL development, FPGA/ASIC design, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex challenges in aerospace systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM major obtained by start date.
• Strong understanding of digital logic design fundamentals and RTL design, FPGA or ASIC development workflows.
• Experience with HDL languages such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDL; timing analysis and debugging tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement digital hardware blocks using Verilog/SystemVerilog or VHDL.
• Develop RTL for FPGA and/or ASIC-based systems.
• Participate in architecture discussions and design reviews.
• Create and execute simulation testbenches for functional verification.
• Debug RTL, simulation, synthesis, and hardware integration issues.
• Collaborate with verification, physical design, firmware, and system engineering teams.
• Support FPGA prototyping, lab bring-up, and silicon validation activities.
• Analyze timing, area, power, and performance tradeoffs.
• Document designs, test plans, and engineering results.
• Learn and apply industry-standard EDA tools and design methodologies.
