Job summary

Xavier University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Instruction in the Digital Innovation, Film and Television Program (DIFT). The position begins Fall 2027 and includes teaching a 4-course load per semester, course planning, and active use of Canvas for student progress and records.

The ideal candidate holds an MFA in Digital Film and Television Production, with professional work in the field and a commitment to social justice and inclusive

Qualifications

• MFA in Digital Film and Television Production or equivalent at time of appointment.
• Proficiency in digital filmmaking and background in Adobe Suite.
• Understanding of equipment from cameras to sound, lighting, producing, and editing.
• Evidence of college-level teaching and/or significant professional work in the field.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in the Digital Innovation, Film and Television Program (4 courses per semester).
• Plan lectures, discussions, and activities to support student success.
• Use Xavier Canvas to provide course information and track progress.
• Collaborate with department and university colleagues to support program goals.
