Job summary

Crime Stoppers of Houston is seeking a Digital Content & Social Media Manager to lead the organization’s online presence across major platforms. You will craft compelling content, manage calendars, and oversee paid campaigns to boost awareness and fundraising.

You will collaborate with the marketing team, produce multimedia assets, and report on performance to guide decisions, all while maintaining a consistent brand voice and mission-driven storytelling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience managing Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging social media platforms.
  • Strong photography, videography, and video editing skills.
  • Experience with social media scheduling platforms, analytics tools, and digital advertising platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Digital Content & Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing Crime Stoppers of Houston’s social media strategy while creating compelling digital content that increases community awareness, strengthens the organization’s brand, and supports fundraising, public safety education, and organizational priorities. This role combines strategic planning, content creation, paid advertising support, community engagement, influencer management, multimedia production, and analytics to tell impactful stories across digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the organization’s social media strategy across all platforms.
  • Manage the monthly content calendar to align with campaigns, events, awareness initiatives, and organizational priorities.
  • Schedule, publish, and optimize content across all social media channels.
  • Oversee social media engagement by monitoring comments, direct messages, and audience interactions while fostering positive online conversations.
  • Track platform performance and prepare monthly analytics reports with recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all digital platforms.
Content Creation & Storytelling
  • Develop original content that supports organizational campaigns, fundraising initiatives, public safety education, and organizational priorities.
  • Write engaging captions, social media copy, and calls to action tailored to each platform.
  • Capture high-quality photo and video content at events, trainings, community engagements, and organizational activities.
  • Shoot and edit short- and long-form video content for social media, digital campaigns, events, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with designers and the marketing team to produce engaging multimedia content that supports organizational goals.
Digital Advertising & Campaigns
  • Support the planning, execution, and performance monitoring of paid advertising campaigns across digital platforms.
  • Assist in developing campaign messaging, creative assets, and audience targeting to increase awareness, engagement, and website traffic.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimizations based on analytics and audience insights.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Build relationships with community members, partners, sponsors, influencers, and content creators through strategic digital engagement.
  • Develop and manage influencer and content creator partnerships, including identifying opportunities, coordinating collaborations, managing deliverables, and evaluating campaign performance.
  • Coordinate social media collaborations and cross-promotional opportunities that expand organizational reach and community awareness.
  • Monitor industry trends, platform updates, and emerging content opportunities to continually improve audience growth and engagement.
Event & Media Support
  • Provide on-site social media coverage for organizational events, campaigns, community initiatives, and press conferences.
  • Lead or support logistical planning and on-site setup for press conferences, including coordinating visuals, signage, marketing materials, and messaging support.
  • Capture real-time content to maximize post-event storytelling and audience engagement.
