Job summary

Burnett Specialists Staffing | Recruiting is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager in Houston to lead strategic marketing, communications, PR, and social media initiatives. You will work with executive leadership to elevate community awareness, donor engagement, and organizational growth.

You will develop messaging, manage content across channels, handle press relations, and oversee website and social media presence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the organization's overall marketing, communications, and public relations strategy.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to support communications initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Prepare and distribute press releases and assist with media events and press conferences.
  • Develop and manage executive social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter).
  • Create compelling marketing content including newsletters, eBlasts, blog posts, speeches, talking points, articles, and other written communications.
  • Design social media graphics, videos, and engaging digital content for multiple platforms.
  • Manage editorial calendars and oversee content planning across all communication channels.
  • Develop and maintain an annual marketing and communications calendar.
  • Manage internal and external marketing, branding, communications, and public relations efforts.
  • Pitch stories and organizational initiatives to television, radio, print, digital media, and other publications.
  • Create marketing collateral, promotional materials, and program-specific communication pieces.
  • Coordinate media relations before, during, and after organizational events.
  • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase audience engagement and brand awareness.
  • Maintain and update the organization's website, including news, blogs, event recaps, and photo galleries.
  • Manage partner recognition and website content.
  • Engage with followers across social media platforms while maintaining CRM data.
  • Highlight sponsors, donors, volunteers, organizational initiatives, and community impact through digital channels.
  • Cultivate relationships with media ambassadors and community influencers.
  • Collaborate with videographers, photographers, and creative vendors to produce high-quality event content.
  • Coordinate event marketing collateral including invitations, programs, signage, and promotional materials.
  • Prepare event messaging, executive talking points, and post-event communications.
  • Oversee photography, videography, and post-event follow-up, including thank-you communications.
  • Support organizational events through planning, promotion, and on-site coordination.
  • Partner with internal program teams to promote services, initiatives, and community impact.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the organization's young professionals or associate board, supporting communications and engagement initiatives.
  • Perform additional marketing, communications, and administrative duties as assigned by executive leadership.
