WROC/RochesterFirst is hiring a Digital Content Creator to join our newsroom in Rochester, NY, writing, aggregating, and publishing news stories, videos, and multimedia elements to our digital platforms.

You will gather information through research, interviews, and events, while using CMS tools to deliver engaging content across Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more. The role requires independent work in a fast-paced environment and shifts including nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and AP style.
• Knowledge of online news journalism and best practices.
• Basic photography, videography and editing for digital delivery.
• Creates engaging stories, videos and imagery for our viewers across platforms.
• Gathers information through research, interviews, experience, or attendance of events.
• Proficiency in web content management systems (CMS).
• Proficiency with Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
• Must work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility with shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Copy editing and quality control across digital platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism and newsroom experience preferred.
• Basic graphic design experience with Photoshop, Adobe Express preferred.

Responsibilities

Compensation

Compensation: $16.50 - $17.50 an hour commensurate with applicant’s experience and skill level.
