Job summary

City of New York’s Manhattan Borough President’s Office seeks a Digital Communications Associate to craft engaging digital content, produce videos and graphics, and maintain the office website to expand its online audience.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will translate policy into accessible content, drive social media growth, and collaborate with staff to highlight priorities and events in Manhattan.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and two years of related community work experience.
• High school diploma and six years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination with at least one year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the office’s digital strategy with the communications team.
• Draft, create, and publish content for the Borough President’s social media accounts.
• Identify opportunities for video content and manage production from concept to publication, including scripting, shooting, editing, and captioning.
• Design and produce social media graphics, event flyers, and other digital materials with a consistent visual identity.
• Attend events to capture timely photo and video content.
• Maintain and update the office website and coordinate with technical support for improvements.
• Collaborate with colleagues to communicate policy initiatives, events, and resources.
• Coordinate with external partners to amplify initiatives and expand reach.
• Monitor engagement and analytics to improve content and grow audiences.
