Job summary

The City of New York’s Comptroller’s Office seeks a Communications Officer to design digital and print communications, create visuals and motion graphics, and maintain WordPress web content. You will translate policy data into engaging visuals, collaborate with writers and analysts, and ensure on-brand, accessible materials for diverse audiences in a fast-paced civic setting.

Strong design and web production skills are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus four+ years in multimedia design, communications, video production, social media management, journalism, or related fields.
• Alternative: equivalent education/experience to the above.

Responsibilities

• Design digital and print communications including reports, infographics, social media graphics, event materials, and data visualizations.
• Create animations and motion graphics for social media channels, presentations, and digital campaigns.
• Develop and maintain web content using WordPress and digital publishing tools.
• Produce brochures, flyers, fact sheets, and other collateral for events and initiatives.
• Uphold brand consistency by applying the office’s visual style guide across mediums.
• Collaborate with Communications Team to storyboard and translate policy/data into visuals.
• Stay current with emerging design/animation tech and evaluate new tools for adoption.
• Perform other assignments and special projects as required.
