Digital Communications SME/Top Secret Clearance

• Salary Range - $90,000 to $105,000
• Location - This is a remote position with a work location within 50 miles of one of these sites: NAB Coronado, CA; NAWS China Lake, CA; NAS Point Mugu, CA; MCAS Yuma, AZ; Eglin AFB, FL; or JEB Little Creek Fort Story, VA. Travel is required.
• Clearance - Top Secret

Summary: Supports the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and NAWCWD Digital Precision Strike Suite (DPSS) Development and Sustainment Support Program.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver training on communication protocols, encryption, and system maintenance for military personnel.
• Assist in evaluating, testing, and implementing communication technologies to improve operations.
• Support mission planning with reliable and secure communication capabilities.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair tactical radios and networking equipment.
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams for seamless integration.
• Create technical documents, SOPs, and training manuals.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, standards, and protocols.
• Recommend system upgrades and procurement strategies based on operational needs.
• Support military exercises and testing by ensuring communication system functionality.
• Assist in installing, operating, and maintaining tactical communication systems.
• Configure and test systems for reliability and security in mission-critical scenarios.
• Train personnel on communication devices.
• Manage frequencies and encryption keys for secure communications.
• Work with senior staff and SMEs on operational planning.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, troubleshooting, and system reports.
• Attend meetings as needed.

Qualifications and Certifications:

• Top Secret Clearance, SCI Eligible
• 8-10 years of experience with tactical communication systems, including Harris Falcon III/VI radios, ViaSat TDL radios, and IP technology.
• Perform functions independently such as developing requirements, providing technical guidance, analyzing and recommending improvements, and consulting with end-users.
