Job summary

Ancestry in St. Louis, MO is seeking a project-based temporary Archival Digitization Specialist to digitize documents and ensure high-quality image capture. This contract role runs 8 months, Monday–Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, reporting to the Domestic Remote Senior Imaging Manager. Not eligible for benefits; on-site position.

The candidate will manage image capture, audits, data entry, and coordinate image delivery while maintaining equipment and supporting new tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with scanning and editing equipment, procedures and materials.
• Ability to manage several projects and determine project urgency.
• Background in Photography, Library and Archives, or History.

Responsibilities

• Capture digital images of documents as specified by our company.
• Perform quality audits on each roll that have been scanned before transmission.
• Report progress and quality audit notes and enter data into spreadsheets.
• Initiate and maintain responsibility of the delivery or transmission of images to the corporate office.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance functions, and coordinate for machine maintenance with third-party hardware service providers.
• Perform basic image enhancement and file organization tasks.
• Maintain professional relationships with partners that protect the image and mission of Ancestry.com.
• Handle miscellaneous tasks related to the projects, as they arise.
