Job summary

Ancestry is seeking a project-based temporary Archival Digitization Specialist in Manhattan, NY. You will capture digital images of documents, perform quality audits, and maintain data in spreadsheets.

This role reports to the Domestic Remote Senior Imaging Manager, runs 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, and lasts about four months, with compensation of $25 per hour. This is not remote.

Qualifications

• Technical experience with digitization processes and archival materials.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Experience with scanning and editing equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Capture digital images of documents as specified by the company.
• Perform quality audits on scanned rolls before transmission.
• Report progress and quality audit notes and enter data into spreadsheets.
• Coordinate delivery or transmission of images to the corporate office.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and coordinate third-party service.
• Perform basic image enhancement and file organization tasks.
• Maintain professional relationships with partners to protect image integrity.
• Handle miscellaneous project tasks as they arise.
