Job summary

Ancestry in Elkhart, IN is seeking a project-based temporary Archival Digitization Specialist to work on a 9–12 month contract. This part-time role (20-30 hours/week) focuses on digitizing archival documents with attention to detail and independence, reporting to the Domestic Remote Senior Imaging Manager.

You will capture digital images, perform quality audits, and manage data in spreadsheets while coordinating image delivery to the corporate office.

Qualifications

• Experience with digitization and archival documents.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience with scanning and editing equipment and materials.
• Photography, Library and Archives or History background.

Responsibilities

• You will capture digital images of documents as specified by our company.
• You will perform quality audits on each roll that have been scanned before transmission.
• You will report progress and quality audit notes and enter data into spreadsheets.
• You will initiate and maintain responsibility of the delivery or transmission of images to the corporate office.
• You will perform basic image enhancement and file organization tasks.
• You will maintain professional relationships with partners that protect the image and mission of Ancestry.com.
• You will be expected to do various miscellaneous tasks related to the projects, as they arise.
