Job summary

Ancestry is seeking a project-based temporary Archival Digitization Specialist to join our Philadelphia, PA location. You will digitize archival documents, perform quality checks, and work on goal-oriented projects in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time contract runs roughly two years, with hours from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You must pass a background check; the position is not eligible for Ancestry benefits and is not remote.

Qualifications

• Experience managing several projects and prioritizing accordingly.
• Ability to anticipate problems and devise creative solutions.
• Experience with scanning and editing equipment, procedures and materials.
• Background in Photography, Library and Archives, or History.

Responsibilities

• Capture digital images of documents as specified.
• Perform quality audits on scanning rolls before transmission.
• Record progress and audit notes in spreadsheets.
• Manage delivery or transmission of images to the corporate office.
• Coordinate regular equipment maintenance with third-party providers.
• Do basic image enhancement and file organization.
• Maintain professional relationships to protect image integrity.
• Handle miscellaneous project tasks as needed.
