Agile Product Owner

Are you excited by transforming digital experiences? Motivated by solving customer challenges and enhancing their experiences? Do you like seeing your work's impact from concept to completion? If so, The Hartford has a place for you. We are seeking an Agile Product Owner to join the Enterprise Digital team, supporting sales and acquisition portals and APIs. This role reports to the Value Stream Owner for Global Specialty Digital and involves leading multiple sprint teams within scaled agile frameworks to develop market-leading capabilities. The focus is on the Global Specialty segment within Hartford's Commercial Insurance group, mainly enhancing go-to-market tools used by our Agency partners for quoting and issuing insurance products. Projects include integrating AI capabilities and redesigning new business experiences with a user-centered approach. The candidate will also share best practices in user experience and digital solutions across segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in multiple sprint teams on an Agile Release Train, representing business interests in daily delivery activities, including backlog refinement, feature decomposition, user story acceptance, UAT, change management, and release monitoring.
  2. Act as the primary business interface, facilitating sessions with diverse stakeholders to generate new ideas and refine requirements for the tech team. Experience managing senior stakeholders is essential.
  3. Maintain backlog health in partnership with the Release Train Engineer, Agile Product Manager, Scrum Master, Tech Lead, and BA, ensuring work readiness and prioritization amid competing demands.
  4. Lead business change management and monitoring efforts, establishing communication channels and success metrics to guide future iterations.
  5. Keep stakeholders informed and contribute to bi-monthly business and product leadership meetings.
  6. Drive improvements in user experience using tools like A/B testing, web analytics, usability studies, and UX collaborations to enhance customer satisfaction and inform investments.

Requirements:

  • Strong focus on customer experience, with curiosity and drive to improve and quantify outcomes.
  • Experience leading product execution for at least two agile scrum teams in a scaled environment (minimum 2-3 years).
  • Ability to articulate product vision and roadmap.
  • Familiarity with digital assets, including A/B testing, UX practices, and web analytics.
  • Experience managing a Product Backlog and aligning with senior stakeholders.
  • Insurance product experience is highly preferred.
  • Self-starter capable of ownership and independent problem-solving within larger initiatives.
  • Team-oriented, fostering a collaborative and supportive culture.
  • Additional skills like Rally, APIs, Google Analytics, Tealium, Agentic AI tools, and Optimizely are a plus.

Compensation

The annual base pay range is based on market analysis and may vary based on performance and competencies. It is one component of the total compensation, which may include bonuses, incentives, and recognition. The range is:

$100,000 - $150,000
