About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and results-driven Digital Account Executive – Brands to grow advertising revenue by connecting leading consumer brands with our highly engaged, active lifestyle audience. You’ll be responsible for identifying and closing brand partnerships that leverage our digital properties—including Active.com, mobile apps, and email newsletters—to reach millions of endurance athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

If you’re passionate about connecting brands with the right audiences, love building relationships, and have a track record of exceeding sales goals in digital media, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect & Pitch: Identify and reach out to brand marketers, media buyers, and agencies who want to connect with fitness-forward consumers.
  • Develop Solutions: Create customized advertising and sponsorship packages using placements across our website, mobile apps, and newsletters.
  • Close Deals: Own the sales cycle end-to-end—from outreach and proposal development to contract negotiation and closing.
  • Client Management: Build strong, ongoing relationships with brand partners to drive renewals and upsell opportunities.
  • Market Insight: Stay up to date on digital advertising trends, competitor offerings, and the needs of health, fitness, and outdoor lifestyle brands.
  • Collaborate Internally: Work closely with marketing, ad operations, and product teams to ensure successful campaign delivery and reporting.
  • Revenue Ownership: Consistently hit or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in digital media sales or brand partnerships, preferably in health, fitness, lifestyle, or sports markets.
  • Proven success selling advertising across web, mobile, and email channels.
  • Existing relationships with brand marketers, media planners, or relevant agencies a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker who understands how to craft campaigns that align with brand goals.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales prospecting platforms.
