Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a 13‑week assignment in Michigan. Flexible shifts with 4–10 and 5–8 hour blocks require a minimum of 1 year of recent full‑time RD experience in acute care, nursing homes, or inpatient rehab.

NFPE, EN/PN experience, and excellent English communication are essential to support patient care. The role involves direct nutrition care, education, and coordination with medical teams; strong math and MS Office skills are needed to document outcomes

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nutrition care including assessment, diagnosis, care plan implementation, counseling and outcome evaluation for patients and families.
• Coordinate nutrition education programs and seminars.
• Assess nutritional needs by collecting data, verifying history and interpreting tests.
• Identify nutrition problems and plan interventions tailored to patient needs.
• Monitor outcomes, ensure appropriate food consistencies and assess intake.
• Educate patients and families on nutrition and diets as required.
• Maintain documentation in the medical record and collaborate with the care team.

Description:Act as a nutritional consultant and resource to members of the healthcare team.Provide comprehensive nutritional care including assessment, diagnosis, implementation of a care plan, counseling, education, and evaluation of outcomes to patients, families, and associates.Coordinate various education programs and seminars on nutritional topics.

Assess the nutritional needs of patients by obtaining, verifying, and interpreting relevant data.Determine the food and nutrition-related history, anthropometric measurements, biochemical data, medical tests, nutrition-focused physical findings, and client history.Identify and describe specific nutrition problems that can be resolved or improved through treatment and nutrition intervention.Implement nutrition interventions to improve identified nutrition problems based on individual patient care needs.Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes to determine progress and whether goals are being met.Ensure appropriate food consistencies and assess adequate nutritional intake through monitoring patient food tolerances.Collaborate and communicate with healthcare providers as a consultant.Inform the team of advances in diet therapy and any unusual diet-related lab results.Educate patients and/or their significant others on nutrition and special diets as required.Maintain documentation of nutrition services in the patient’s medical record.Develop and conduct in-service classes, community education, and other nutrition offerings as assigned.Participate in special projects and committees related to nutritional care.Enhance professional expertise through educational activities.Develop and maintain educational resources appropriate to patient and audience needs.Supervise dietetic interns/students by providing clinical teaching and mentoring.Act as a liaison with relevant departments addressing needs of patients and staff.Demonstrate professional characteristics by adhering to policies and maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills.Perform other related duties as required.
