Job summary

Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern New Mexico, part of Ernest Health, Inc., is seeking a Dietitian to join our clinical team on a per diem basis in Las Cruces, NM. The role supports patients’ nutrition needs within a hospital setting and works with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care.

The Dietitian will hold licensure as required by the state and collaborate with physicians and staff to implement individualized diet plans that align with medical goals and cost considerations.

Qualifications

• Current Dietitian license or CD credential as required by state.
• One year of hospital patient care experience preferred.
• Demonstrates understanding of treatment costs and financial support.
• Strong computer, data entry, and record management skills.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with others.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the preparation and serving of meals with the Food Services Manager based on general or special diets.
• Specifies dietary requirements for patients with special restrictions or nutritional needs.
• Integrates the hospital’s mission and its Guiding Principles into daily practice.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Current Dietitian license required or certified by the Commission on Dietetics, as required by state.
• One year of experience in the care of patients in hospital setting preferred.
