Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's in Dietetics, RD/RDN credentials, and Georgia licensure, with preferred experience and specialized certifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical nutritional dietetic experience.
  • Current RDN/RD credential through CDR.
  • Current Georgia LD license issued by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Dietitians.
  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, nutrition assessment, and counseling.
  • Ability to develop and implement nutrition care plans.

Job Details: The Mercer Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Care clinic in Macon, GA is searching for a Dietitian.

Responsibilities: The Dietitian provides nutrition assessment, counseling, education, care planning, and ongoing nutrition support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) receiving services through the Mercer Center for IDD Care. Responsibilities include identifying nutrition-related concerns, developing individualized nutrition interventions, providing patient and caregiver education, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, effective, and evidence-informed nutrition care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
  • A minimum of one year of clinical nutritional dietetic experience
  • Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Current Georgia Licensed Dietitian (LD) license issued by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Dietitians
  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, nutrition assessment, and counseling
  • Ability to develop and implement nutrition care plans

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of clinical or specialty experience.

Specialty certifications such as:

  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
  • Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO)
  • Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR)
  • Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP)
  • Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling, and chronic disease management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members. Ability to adapt nutrition education and interventions to the needs of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Skill in providing nutrition counseling and education to patients, caregivers, and support persons. Skill in interpreting clinical information and documenting services accurately in the electronic health record. Ability to communicate complex nutrition information in an understandable and supportive manner. Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and adapt interventions to individual needs.
