Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Current Registered Dietitian (RD) certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of dietary counseling experience, preferably in long‑term care.
• Strong communication skills and ability to educate others effectively.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' nutritional needs through assessments and collaborate with healthcare providers to develop personalized dietary plans.
• Develop and implement nutritious, balanced meal plans tailored to individual medical needs and restrictions.
• Educate residents, families, and staff about nutrition and its role in health and disease prevention.
• Monitor residents' intake and adjust plans to ensure ongoing health and comfort.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to address overall health needs within an interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure meal planning and dietary services comply with state and federal regulations and keep records.
• Provide training and support to kitchen staff to ensure proper food preparation and dietary compliance.

• Collaborative Care: Work with other healthcare professionals to address residents' overall health needs, adjusting dietary plans as part of an interdisciplinary care approach.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all meal planning and dietary services comply with state and federal regulations. Keep accurate records of all nutrition-related care.
• Staff Training: Provide training and support to kitchen staff and others in the facility to ensure proper food preparation and dietary compliance.
