Job summary

The Win, a 24-hour skilled nursing facility in Santa Clara, seeks a Dietary Supervisor/Manager to direct all aspects of the food service and dietary department. You will lead staff, ensure dietary needs are met, and maintain quality and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities include menu oversight, staff training, budgeting, coordinating with dietitians, and ensuring timely meal service while upholding sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of accredited course in dietetic training approved by the American Dietetic Association
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certificate
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in kitchen, supervisory position, preferably in a hospital, nursing or other related medical facility
• Proven experience managing a budget and controlling food costs
• Ability to lead by example and treat everyone at work kindly and professionally

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, evaluate and direct the Food Services Department reputation, programs and activities
• Hire, train and supervise staff in a kind, collaborative manner
• Partner with Dietician to ensure residents’ diets and nutritional needs are met
• Coordinate food services and activities with other related departments as needed
• Ensure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies
• Monitors staff to confirm they adhere to all sanitation, safety and procedural guidelines
• Participates in facility’s surveys and inspections, developing a plan of correction if /when deficiencies are noted
• Assists in developing and maintaining written food services policies and procedures
• Inspects special diet trays to confirm patients/residents receiving the correct food
• Ensures all meals are served on time; including snacks
• Ensures food quality and that kitchen areas and equipment are clean and operable
• Manages food storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets for regulatory compliance
• Ensures charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive of meals provided
• Provides reports on department status and/or for dietary programs when requested
