Job summary

Workstream in Los Gatos, CA is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide for the morning shift. You will support dietary staff in meal prep, serving meals, and keeping dining areas clean and organized to ensure residents receive nutritious, appealing meals.

No prior experience is required and training will be provided to help you learn facility policies, sanitation standards, and safety procedures. This role offers a supportive team and opportunities to grow within the facility.

Position Summary

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Dietician / Dietary Management and Cook as requested
• Helping with meal preparation in accordance with the dietary needs of the residents
• Assisting in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Timely setting up of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food carts
• Following the established portion controls recommended
• Adhering to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and clean up
• Keeping worktables clean, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Dishwashing and cleaning of utensils
• Returning clean dishes and utensils to the proper storage areas
• Carrying out of garbage
• Disposing of food and waste per facility regulations
• Obtaining food supplies for the next meal
• Following safety regulations and precautions at all times
• Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
• Adhering to all facility policies and procedures of the facility
• Maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information
