Job summary

Apploi is seeking a dependable, organized Assistant Dietary Supervisor to join our dietary services team at a skilled nursing facility. You will help oversee daily kitchen operations, support dietary staff, and ensure residents receive high-quality meals that meet dietary needs in a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating meal prep and service, monitoring safety and temperatures, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food handler certification required as applicable by state and local regulations.
• Previous food service or dietary experience preferred.
• Supervisory or team-lead experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

• Assist the Dietary Supervisor with daily dietary department operations and staff supervision.
• Coordinate meal preparation, tray assembly, meal delivery, and dining room service.
• Ensure meals are served according to current diet orders, allergies, and approved menus.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, temperatures, and meal presentation.
• Maintain safety and sanitation in accordance with policies; document logs and records.
• Assist with food ordering, inventory, receiving deliveries, and reducing waste.
• Train dietary staff to maintain quality service and efficiency.
• Communicate with nursing staff and the Registered Dietitian about resident needs.

• Coordinate meal preparation, tray assembly, meal delivery, and dining room service.
• Ensure meals are served according to current diet orders, food allergies, texture modifications, and approved menus.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, food temperatures, and meal presentation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and facility policies.
• Maintain accurate temperature logs, cleaning schedules, inventory records, and other required documentation.
• Assist with food ordering, inventory control, receiving deliveries, and minimizing food waste.
• Train and support dietary staff to maintain quality service and operational efficiency.
• Communicate with nursing staff, the Registered Dietitian, and other departments regarding resident dietary needs and concerns.
• Promote resident satisfaction, dignity, and choice while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Qualifications

• Skilled nursing facility or healthcare food service experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is a plus.
